Jon

  Jon Bebb – Director

Jon, now 50 and not ashamed to admit it, has been involved in young people’s ministry since being called out of an accountancy career over eighteen years ago. He has been married to Beccy for 25 years and they have been blessed with Chris (topher, aged 21) and Jessica (18).  He is a revivalist and firmly believes that the only hope for our nation and her Church is a mighty touch of God’s revival power.

 Jon’s Testimony:

“I became a Christian at 15 and attended Church very regularly for ten years even though it was very boring! I got married, changed churches, volunteered to help with the children’s work at the new place and never looked back. Then I was deeply challenged by God and stepped out of full-time accountancy in 1990.

“I had a life-changing experience in 1999 when I visited the Brownsville Assemblies of God church in Pensacola, Florida, then experiencing a full-scale revival. I received a new vision for children’s work but more importantly for a close personal walk with Jesus, which I have been enjoying ever since.”

Jon and Beccy both share God’s heart for children and youth. They have been working with children in schools and in churches for over twenty years and with teenagers since their own children, Chris and Jessica, reached that age. They are passionate about young people knowing Jesus Christ for real and fully entering into the relationship that God offers them.

Jon is very much a revivalist;  In recent years, God has led him to focus on ‘children in prayer’. Beccy is a worshipper with a clear anointing to lead young people into the presence of God, seeking to build their identity in Jesus and to enable them to be secure in His love. Together they are seeking to make themselves more available to the Holy Spirit and to work with those He puts across their path.

Melanie Jamera –  Personal Assistant

Mel is a personal assistant at Turning The Tide. She has a number of great gifts in this area as well as many others and is a real asset to the team. She lives in Brighton with Edgar and their 4 year old son Curtis

Mel’s Testimony:

“I was born in Zimbabwe, brought up in a very Christian background and I went to a Christian boarding school where a lot of emphasis was put on learning about Christ. It was all about God but I was in the ‘in crowd’ at the time and it was unheard of to be staying behind for Scripture Union, for an extra dose of Christianity. I was even a church usher but all of my motives for doing it were wrong.

I can’t exactly pin point the day or time that things changed for me. Sadly for me it wasn’t the sound of angels singing and playing their harps and a stairwell leading up to heaven with Jesus at the top with outstretched arms! It was a realization of a kind of calm and peace in the pit of my stomach that felt good. Let me tell you, God has looked after me even when I didn’t know it and He has never put more on me than I can bear.

There is so much I can say about how the LORD has been good to me, that would take a life time but I will tell you this; Before I left Zimbabwe I was working as a Secretary for a Director in an investment company. All this seems like preparation for when I came to the UK in 2000 and settled in Brighton with Edgar and we had Curtis in 2005.

I used to attend St. Luke’s Church, which is where I first met Jon and heard about the job vacancy at TTT. My job here has been fulfilling more than I ever expected and I hope that I can be as much of a blessing to Jon & Beccy as they have been to me.
